Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have kept another huge piece to their 2018 recruiting class. Under Armour All-American and four-star offensive tackle Richard Gouraige has officially signed his NLI to the University of Florida. Richard Gouraige is the 18th commit to join Florida’s 2018 recruiting class. He is the 11th offensive recruit to join Florida’s class alongside with Justin Watkins, Kyle Pitts, Emory Jones, Noah Banks, Jacob Copeland, Griffin McDowell, Chris Bleich, Iverson Clement, Dameon Pierce, and Dante Lang. He is also the fourth offensive lineman to join the class with Noah Banks, Chris Bleich and Griffin McDowell.
Who is Richard Gouraige?
Richard Gouraige is a four-star offensive tackle out of Cambridge Christian School in Tampa, Florida. He was one of the top recruits who camped during Friday Night Lights. The instate offensive lineman even admitted that he really considered pulling the trigger while he was on campus. One of the reasons that could have made him think longer were the numerous offers he received. Gouraige received 36 offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and others. On the 247 Sports Composite, Gouraige is the 81st ranked recruit and the seventh ranked offensive tackle in the country. On ESPN, Gouraige is the 85th recruit in the country and the sixth offensive tackle in the nation.
Richard Gouraige is a slender offensive tackle with a lot of potential. He is 6’5” and weighs 271 pounds. Looking at his tape, you can see why he’s a top ten offensive tackle in the country. Gouraige is a pancake machine and does a real nice job of blowing up the defensive lineman. He just throws people around like it’s nothing. He moves very well, which really helps him when he moves into the second level and tries to block linebackers. The in-state lineman plays with an aggressive attitude and really creates big holes for the running game. Florida QB signee Emory Jones must be loving this one. The Gators might have just found their left tackle of the future in Richard Gouraige.
