Miami fights out another tough win down at Hard Rock Stadium to take its first lead in the final 22 seconds. With Cutler getting injured on the first drive in the second half and Matt Moore to throw 2 touchdowns and an interception. Bobby McCain gets a huge interception setting up the offense in field goal range with 39 seconds left in the game. Allowing kicker Cody Parkey to win Miami the game.
Dolphins Pull Off Another Big Comeback
Miami found themselves behind the Jets this week and still manage to come back and win for the second week in a row. If you are asking how did they do it? Here is how. Entering the second half already down 21-14 the Dolphins come out strong on defense only allowing 1 touch down for the rest of the game forcing the Jets to punt 4 out of 7 second-half drives. Then with the game tied off of 2 Matt Moore’s touchdowns to Kenny Stills each time, Bobby McCain comes down with an interception off of Josh McCown.
Jay Cutler Gets Injured, Matt Moore to the Rescue
On the first drive of the second half Cutler attempts to throw the ball downfield to Kenny Stills and takes a big hit from Jets linebacker #48 Jordan Jenkins. He was then after pulled out from the game taken to be evaluated. He has 2 cracked ribs and is very doubtful to play this Thursday against the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium and maybe out for the next 2-3 weeks. With the injury coming almost straight out of the half the dolphins had to put in Moore and make some adjustments to the offense. Moore would finish the game with 188 yards going 13/21 and throwing 2 touchdowns and an interception.
Offense Finally Had Consistent Drives
The Dolphins had a total of 65 offensive plays and had possession of the football for 31:58 minutes. Although they only converted 5-13 3rd downs those proved to be the difference makers. Despite only having 53 yards on the ground the Dolphins were able to get 304 yards out of the passing game. Even with Cutler going out and Moore stepping up, Miami’s offense still delivered when it mattered the most. On the flip side, off of both Cutler’s and Moore’s interceptions, the Jets scored each time the next following drive.
Jay Ajayi Could Not Get the Train Going
Jay Ajayi could not get any gaps in Sundays game vs the Jets. The Jets seem to have the dolphins run game all figured out. Both times this year the Jets have managed to stop Miami on the run only letting Ajayi have a total of 67 rushing yards on the season when they are facing each other. As a team, the Dolphins only have 83 rushing yards total in both matches against the Jets. A lot of it comes down to the offensive line who yesterday lost LT Laremy Tunsil in the game due to a knee injury his return at the moment is unknown. The Dolphins are expected to get LG Ted Larsen back soon returning from injury.
To Baltimore For a Thursday Night Game
The Dolphins are traveling to Baltimore on a short week to play the Baltimore Ravens. The Dolphins are riding a 3-game winning streak and hope to keep it alive this Thursday night. The Ravens come into this game off of losing 2 games in a row. The NFL season is in week 8 and now getting to the halfway point of the season and this is where you will see teams that will truly either do well down the line or just die down. The Dolphins are still 3rd in the AFC after both the Bills and Patriots get a win this week, Going down the road when Miami plays the Bills and Patriots this season they will need to win these games to topple New England from the AFC East Champions.
