The Atlanta Falcons look to advance to Championship weekend next weekend, and are hopeful to gain another Super Bowl berth. However, that road will lead through Philadelphia tonight.
Eagles Playoff Struggles
The Eagles look to win a playoff game tonight for the first time since 2004, when they faced New England in the Super Bowl. They’ll have their chance tonight, but as they have the last few weeks, they’ll have to do it without Carson Wentz. Nick Foles is the backup, and while he’s played well, he doesn’t have the playoff experience. Philly struggled somewhat down the stretch without Wentz.
Matt Ryan Hopes to Get Falcons Back To Super Bowl
The Atlanta Falcons once again find theirselves with a chance to make it to Minneapolis, and play in the Super Bowl. While Philly is the home team, many are picking the Falcons to advance to either New Orleans, or Minneapolis next week. The Falcons have all the postseason experience one would need. Dan Quinn’s defense seems to be catching fire at just the right time. If Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense can get it together, you have to like their chances of being able to stop Foles and the Eagles, and make it to Championship weekend.
One aspect of this game that will be interesting is the play of Julio Jones. Many expect the wide receiver to have a breakout performance tonight, and it could certainly spark this Falcons offense to victory. Not that Julio has been quiet by any means this year, he certainly hasn’t had the same season he had last year. If Matt Ryan can find Julio early and often, and possibly in the end zone, you have to like Atlanta’s chances of making it to next weekend.
