On Monday night, the University of Florida football program announced on Twitter that they will be revealing new alternate uniforms for the upcoming Texas A&M this Saturday. The idea came from the University of Florida and Nike to celebrate 25 years after Ben Hill Griffin Stadium was nicknamed “The Swamp” by former Heisman
Trophy winner and Florida head coach, Steve Spurrier. Here is the uniform that the Florida Gators will wear Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Nike Football designers came up with the new uniforms and thought that the uniform should resemble a gators since the University of Florida is the school with the mascot being a gator. This one-time alternate uniform was the culmination of an 18 month process between UF and Nike. The body of the uniform is a gator with scales all over the body and arms. The pants are solid swamp green with the Gator Head on one of the legs. For the first time ever, the Gator Head will only appear on one side of the helmet.
While there was mixed reactions to the uniforms, one thing seems certain. The players and commits seem to like the uniform. Here are the reactions to the new alternate jerseys for the Florida Gators.
