Dan Mullen and the Florida coaching staff have pulled off a late upset. Four-star defensive end Malik Langham has official signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a great signing for the Gators as Langham is one of the top defensive recruits available. For a while, it didn’t seem like Florida was in the hunt but somehow, Florida got in the mix and landed the four-star recruit. Malik Langham is the 19th commit in the Florida Gators 2018 recruiting class. He is the eighth defensive recruit with Randy Russell, Trey Dean, Andrew Chatfield, David Reese, Amari Burney, John Huggins and Noah Boykin. He is also the second defensive lineman to join the class with Andrew Chatfield.
Who is Malik Langham?
Malik Langham is a four-star defensive end out of Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama. The out of state defensive lineman was an impressive haul for the Gators as Langham is one of the most complete defensive lineman in the class. Langham is one of the top recruits in the country and it shows with his 33 offers from some of the top programs in the country. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami and Norte Dame. For a while, it seemed like Langham would sign with the Crimson Tide but the Gators were to pull him out of his home state. On 247 Sports, Langham is the 222nd ranked recruit and the 9th ranked strong-side defensive end in the country. On Rivals, Langham is the sixth ranked Alabama recruit and the 19th ranked strong-side defensive end in the country.
Malik Langham is a 6’6” 270 pound defensive end. Just by appearance, you can tell Langham is one of the most physically gifted defensive lineman in the class. He is an offense’s nightmare. Langham is a very big and strong defensive lineman that can stop the rush and get to the quarterback. He’s quick and gets in the backfield as soon as the ball is snapped. Played both defensive and tackle in high school. Langham is also a terrific student with a 3.5 GPA. Great get for the Gators as Langham will do a good job of representing Florida on and off the field.
