The Miami Heat (16-30) have defeated the Brooklyn Nets (9-36) 109-106. This is the Heat’s fifth straight win as the Miami Heat are the hottest team in basketball. Dion Waiters yet again puts the Heat on his back and carries them to victory. Hassan Whiteside had one of the worst games in a Heat uniform as he scored 7 points and only grabbed ONE rebound. How in the world does Hassan only have one rebound in 21 minutes? Brook Lopez took full advantage of Hassan’s terrible game. The Miami Heat’s starting lineup against the Brooklyn Nets featured Goran Dragic at point guard, Dion Waiters at shooting guard, Rodney McGruder at small forward, Luke Babbitt at power forward and Hassan Whiteside at center. Dion Waiters led the Heat to victory for the third time in a row. Waiters dropped 24 points with 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Wayne Ellington did a terrific job coming off the bench. Ellington dropped 22 points and went 4-7 from three-point land. Willis Reed picked up Hassan’s lack with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Okaro White recently signed a 10 day contract with the Heat and it seems he’s making the most of it. White scored 10 points and grabbed 7 boards against the Nets. He has definitely earned another 10 day contract with the Heat.
The Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets’ starting lineup against the Miami Heat featured Spencer Dinwiddie at point guard, Randy Foye at shooting guard, Bojan Bogdanovic at small forward, Trevor Booker at power forward and Brook Lopez as the man in the middle. Brook Lopez was unstoppable Wednesday night. Lopez scored 33 points and shot 50% behind the three point line. Bojan Bogdanovic had a pretty big game as he scored 17 points and was a perfect 6-6 in free throws. The Nets best player off the bench this game was Caris LeVert. LeVert scored 12 points with 4 assists.
The Miami Heat will be looking to stay hot as they travel to Chicago to take on the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls season hasn’t gone the way many expected it to have gone. With the addition of Heat legend, Dwyane Wade, and Rajon Rondo, the Bulls were expected to make a run in the playoffs. The Bulls are one game below .500. Even with the Bulls’ struggles, Jimmy Butler has carries the Chicago Bulls. He leads the team in scoring with 24.5 points per game.
