QB Carson Wentz should enjoy the view he will have next year after the Philadelphia Eagles have announced and officially signed LeGarrette Blount to a one-year contract this past Thursday. Blount was a former Patriot last season and scored an NFL-best and franchise-record with 18 touchdowns just last season.
He does outstanding damage from inside the 10-yard line and short yardage. Blount averaged a league high of 5.4 yards per carry, with 15 of Blount’s touchdowns came with the ball inside the 10-yard line. “It’s just as simple as you’ve got to know your blocking schemes. You’ve got to know what the situation is. It’s a mindset,” Blount said.
“You get the feeling that they have something special here and I want to be a part of it,” when asked why he wanted to come to Philadelphia. He doesn’t believe he has a role yet but he is eager to go out there, learn the playbook, and see what he’s good at.
The mission this offseason was to provide Wentz with more weapons and with the addition of Blount they are just giving Carson another reason to smile.
