The Miami Heat (35-36) defeat the Phoenix Suns (22-49) 112-97 in an absolute shellacking. Hassan Whiteside was huge for the Heat as he led the team in scoring and rebounds. Whiteside did suffer a cut between his right middle and ring finger. He did get stitches after the game. Goran Dragic continues to stay hot for the Heat and Josh Richardson continues to play well as the Miami Heat are still missing Dion Waiters due to an injury. The Phoenix Suns’ starting lineup against the Miami Heat featured Tyler Ulis at point guard, Devin Booker at shooting guard, TJ Warren at small forward, Marquese Chriss at power forward and Alex Len at center. Marquese Chriss had a great game as he dropped 24 points with 7 rebounds and 8-10 from the free throw line. Alex Len had a nice game against Miami as he scored 12 points and grab 11 rebounds for a double-double. Devin Booker dropped 11 points with 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Leandro Barbosa led the Suns’ bench in scoring with 13 points and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.

Tyler Johnson led both benches in scoring with 17 points also grabbed 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Willie Reed scored 12 points with 7 rebounds and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe.
The Miami Heat will have a day off before they take on the always tough Toronto Raptors. Luckily for Miami, it will be a home game for the Heat and the Heat have played better home than on the road. There is no timetable on how long Hassan Whiteside will be out for. The player to watch for in the Toronto Raptors is DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan leads the Raptors in scoring with 26.8 points per game.
