For the first time in his career, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named the athlete for the front cover of Madden 18. Tom Brady will become the oldest player to receive this honor. This is the second consecutive player of the New England Patriots to be on the cover of Madden as Rob Gronkowski was on the cover last season. This comes from three months after Tom Brady and the New England Patriots came back from a 28-3 deficit to win Super Bowl VI against the Atlanta Falcons.
Tom Brady will be turning 40 years old next August and grew up only a few miles away from the EA Sports offices. The biggest concern to Patriots fans when they heard Brady will be on the front cover was that they were worried the G.O.A.T. will get the “Madden Curse”. Tom Brady being Tom Brady had a funny way to ease Patriots fans with a video showing fans that curses aren’t real.
They wouldn't let me break the full-length mirror… All good!

When asked about playing Madden NFL, Tom Brady answered that he doesn’t like playing it against his son because his nine year old son always picks the Patriots so his father has to play against his teammates. “I don’t like doing it,” Brady told ESPN. “It does feel weird. I feel like I’m going up against my own guys that I love. Julian Edelman catches a pass, and I’ve got to tackle him. I’ve been the Green Bay, because I like that offense. And I’ve been Seattle, because I love being that defense.
Tom Brady is coming off on of his best season in his 18 years in his NFL career. He threw for 3,554 yards with 28 touchdowns and only two interceptions in 12 games. Tom Brady finished in second place for NFL MVP behind Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots won Super Bowl VI 34-28 in OT against the Atlanta Falcons. He also won his fourth Super Bowl MVP that game.
