Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators have hit the recruiting trail hard since accepting the Florida job. Mullen and his staff has visited with some of Florida’s top commits and targets. The Gators currently have 13 commits and could possibly sign twelve more. Florida has a lot of interest from some of the top recruits in the country and some might make their pledge to the Gators soon. Florida recently lost their three-star athlete Jalynn Williams and four-star OG Curtis Dunlap as they de-committed from the Gators. There are a lot of recruits who could replace Williams and Dunlap but who will they be? Here are three recruit Florida could land within the next few days.
Three-star WR Antoine Green
Antoine Green is a three-star wide receiver out of Antoine Green is a three-star wide receiver out of Rockledge Senior High School out of Rockledge, Florida. Green is a 6’2” 195 pound wide receiver who recently de-committed from the Florida State Seminoles. The in-state receiver received his Florida offer last Tuesday from Dan Mullen. Antoine Green has 32 offers from some of the top college football programs. Green has offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee. According to 247 Sports, Green is the 333rd ranked recruit in the country and the 55th ranked wide receiver in the nation. Antoine Green could be the next Florida commit since the departure of Jalynn Williams. Green is a bigger receiver than Williams and fits Mullen’s offense better. If Green visits Florida soon, the Gators might have another receiver in their class.
Four-star S Trey Dean
Trey Dean is a four-star wide receiver out of Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia. Dean is a 6’2” 185 pound safety that is currently committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. The Georgia native is currently the fourth highest ranked recruit for the Volunteers. Dean is expected to make an official visit with the Florida Gators this weekend. The Gators have three safeties committed in Amari Burney, Randy Russell and Deontai Williams. The Gators are currently looking for cornerbacks since Divaad Wilson is no longer in the class. If Dean has a great visit with the Gators, he might reconsider his commitment with Tennessee since the Gators already have their head coach and Tennessee is still searching. With things looking bleak at UT, Florida might come in and snag the Under Armour All-American away from their rival.
Three-star K Evan McPherson
Evan McPherson is a three-star kicker out of Fort Payne High School in Fort Payne, Alabama. McPherson is one of the top kicker in the country and a Mississippi State commit. Florida head coach Dan Mullen visited him at his house last Friday night. The Gators might be in need of a new kicker since Eddy Pinero might enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Pinero has been one of the top college kickers in the country and also has the biggest leg in the country. McPherson might not have Eddy’s leg strength, but he is a deadly accurate kicker with solid above average leg strength. If Florida lands McPherson but Pinero stays for his senior year, McPherson would get redshirted and still have all four years of eligibility left.
