The Florida Gators continue to stay hot with another 2018 commit. Three-star linebacker David Reese announced on Twitter that he has committed to the University of Florida. Reese joins a Florida class that has been constantly been recruits left and right. The newest Gator commit made his commitment while was on an unofficial visit at the University of Florida. David Reese is the 15th recruit to join Florida’s 2018 recruiting class. He is the sixth defensive recruit to join the class with Amari Burney, Randy Russell, Divaad Wilson, Taylor Upshaw and Deontai Williams. He is also the only linebacker committed in the class.
Who is David Reese?
David Reese is a three-star linebacker out Vero Beach High School in South Florida. He is one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and probably the best outside linebackers in the state. The instate linebacker is the second David Reese to join the University of Florida and the Gators already have a linebacker with the name David Reese. The three-star linebacker has received 16 offers during his recruitment. He has offers from top tier schools like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Michigan. His two finalist were Florida and Miami. Perhaps, the recent visit to the University of Florida is what got him to commit. Florida’s linebacker coach Tim Skipper was Reese’s main recruiter for the Florida Gators during this process.
David Reese is one of the top linebackers in the country. He is a tall, lean 6’3” 215 pound linebacker. He was clocked running a 4.69 40 yard dash while he was at The Opening Finals at the Nike headquarters. Just by looking at him, you can see he is a very strong individual. Even though he only weighs 215 pounds, he is a very solid built. Reese is known as a thumper for his vicious on the ball carrier. Very athletic and moves well sideline to sideline. He clogs up holes and shuts down the running. He can also get in the backfield quickly and make a play on the quarterback. Very good pickup and much needed big pick up for the Gators.
