The University of Florida basketball program has been recently hot, on the recruiting trail, as the Gators have landed two ESPN 100 point guards this week. Four-star recruits Andrew Nembhard and Noah Locke announced earlier this week, that they will be taking their talents to Gainesville. It’s a really good start for the Florida Gators but they still aren’t done yet. Florida is in good shape with more top raked recruits. The Gators are expected to have its best recruiting in the Mike White era. Here are the top remaining targets for the Florida Gators.
Five-star SG Anfernee Simons
The biggest target on Florida’s radar is the five-star shooting guard out of IMG Academy, Anfernee Simons. Mike White and the Florida coaching staff has targeted perimeter players, as the Gators could potential lose both of their starting guards. Florida really started to become the favorite to land Simons once he de-committed from Louisville due to the NCAA investigation and Rick Pitino getting fired. Anfernee Simons is a top 10 recruit in the country. On ESPN, Simons is the 8th ranked recruit and the #2 shooting guard in the nation. On 247 Sports, Simons is the 6th ranked recruit and the #1 shooting guard in the country. The Gators seem to be the favorites to land Simons. 247 Sports Crystal Ball has the Gators at a 92% of landing the five-star SG. Simons has 11 offers to consider, but Florida, Louisville, Memphis and UCONN are the top schools in consideration.
Four-star SF Khavon Moore
Khavon Moore is a 6’8” 190 pound small forward out of Westside High School in Macon, Georgia. The out of state small forward is a four-star recruit and one of the recruits in his state. Moore is a versatile player that can handle the ball on the perimeter despite his 6-foot-8 frame. He’s been working on his midrange game and continues to improve his shooting touch. Khavon Moore is another ESPN 100 recruit and is a top ten recruit at small forward. On ESPN, Moore is the 37th ranked recruit in the country and the 8th ranked small forward in the country. On 247 Sports, Moore is the 47th ranked recruit and the 10th ranked small forward in the nation. Moore has 25 offers from schools like Florida, Marquette, Providence, and St. John’s. According to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, Florida has a 100% chance on landing Moore.
Four-star SF Keyontae Johnson
Keyontae Johnson is a 6’5” 190 pound small forward out of Oak Hill Academy out of Oak Hill, West Virginia. The four-star small forward is the #1 ranked basketball recruit out of West Virginia. Johnson is a big, physical small forward who really attacks the paint. He uses his quickness and strength to run through the defense. He has a pretty good jumper but can also really jam it. Still needs to work on defense and his midrange game. On the 247 Sports Composite, Keyontae Johnson is the 91st ranked recruit and the 22nd small forward in the country. Johnson has 21 offers from some of the programs like Florida, Kansas, Ohio State, Texas Tech and Wichita State. According to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, Florida has a 67% chance on landing Johnson.
