The University of Florida has landed their first commit since the end of their season. The Gators have landed three-star offensive tackle Chris Bleich. He is the first recruit to commit to the Florida Gators since Dan Mullen was hired. Bleich was a UCLA commit before flipping to the Gators amid coaching carousel. Chris Bleich is the 16th recruit to join the Florida Gators 2018 recruiting class. He is the third offensive lineman to join the class with Curtis Dunlap Jr. and Richard Gouraige. He is also the 11th offensive recruit to join the class with Tyquan Thornton, Iverson Clement, Kyle Pitts, Matt Corral, Richard Gouraige, Dante Lang, Dameon Pierce, Corey Gammage, Curtis Dunlap Jr. and Jalynn Williams.
Who is Chris Bleich?
Chris Bleich is a three-star offensive tackle out of Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, Pennsylvania. He is the second Pennsylvania native to join the class with four-star tight end, Kyle Pitts. In the recruiting process, Bleich received 16 offers from some elite programs. Bleich had offers from Florida, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State and UCLA. Bleich committed to the UCLA Bruins over the summer but flipped to the Gators with Jim Mora being fired. One of Florida’s newest coaches, John Hevesy, recruited him at Mississippi State and was able to flip him to the Gators. According to 247 Sports, Bleich is the 350th recruit in the country and the 29th ranked offensive tackle in the country. According to ESPN, Bleich is a four-star recruit. He is also the 22nd ranked offensive lineman in the country and 12th best recruit in Pennsylvania.
Chris Bleich is a 6’6” 310 pound offensive tackle. He is a big, physical offensive lineman that shows tons of strength. He is also a very athletic offensive lineman as he is able to get into the second level and blow up the linebackers. Due to his athleticism, Bleich might also be used as an offensive guard. He can be a really good pulling guard and create lanes for the ball carrier. Always pushes the line of scrimmage forward. Very good pick up for Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators.
