Luke Ford is the highest rated tight end that the Florida Gators are recruiting. He is a four-star tight end out of Carterville High School in Carterville, Illinois. Luke Ford is 6’7 and weighs 250 pounds. On 247 Sports, Luke Ford is ranked as the 4th best tight end in the country and the 90th best recruit in the country. The Illinois native has 28 offers from top tier schools like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and others. Luke Ford has been invited and will play in The Opening Finals. Ford’s top choices are Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma.
Kyle Pitts is a four-star tight end out of Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania native is 6’6, weighs 235 pounds and runs a 4.70 40 yard dash. Kyle Pitts has been one of Florida’s biggest tight end targets in the 2018 class. On 247 Sports, Pitts is the 174th best recruit in the country, the 7th best tight end in the country and the fifth best recruit out of Pennsylvania. Kyle Pitts has 20 offers from some of the top universities from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others. Kyle Pitts will join Luke Ford at The Opening Finals in Oregon.
Camren McDonald comes from one of the elite high school football programs in the country in Long Beach Poly High School. He is a four-star recruit out of Long Beach, California. On 247Sports, McDonald is ranked as the 267th recruit in the country. He is also the 12th best tight end in the country. Camren McDonald has 13 offers from division one schools. Some of his bets offers comes from Arizona, Florida, Miami, UCLA, USC and Washington.
Lee Payton is a three-star recruit out of River Rouge High School in River Rouge, Michigan. He is a 6’3” 220 pound tight end that runs a 4.62 40 yard dash. Lee Payton has 11 offers so far. Payton has offers from Florida, Indiana, Navy and Syracuse. On 247 Sports, Lee is rated as the 35th best tight end in the country and 20th best recruit in Michigan.
Out of all these tight ends, the Florida Gators have the best chance of landing Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts most recently took an unofficial visit to the Florida Gators. With Jalen Goss out of the picture, this could open the door for Kyle Pitts to join the Florida class. Florida’s biggest challenge for Pitts is Virginia Tech. According to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, the Florida Gators and Virginia Tech Hokies are tied at 42% in landing Kyle Pitts.
