It was another walk off win for the Miami Marlins as they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4. The Fish beat the Brew Crew in the bottom of the twelfth with a walk off single by Starlin Castro. Right-handed pitcher Dan Straily had a solid outing against a dangerous Brewers lineup. Elieser Hernandez earns his first MLB career win and Bryan Holaday continues to have a great series against Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Brewers will not win the series against Miami with another tough loss. This is the second time Milwaukee as lost to the Marlins with a walk off hit. Freddy Peralta got the start for the Milwaukee Brewers. Peralta threw 3.2 innings allowing three hits, three runs, three walks and four strikeouts. Relief pitcher Jorge Lopez gets the loss as he pitched 2.1 innings allowing two hits and the game-winning run. At the plate, Milwaukee had a nice night with four runs on eight hits. All-Star first baseman Jesus Aguilar went 3-5 with two doubles. Eric Thames went 1-4 with a double and two walks. Lorenzo Cain went 2-5 with a walk and Christian Yelich went 1-6 with a RBI single.
The Miami Marlins will celebrate tonight with their sixth walk off win on the year. Right-handed pitcher Dan Straily got the start for the Miami Marlins. Straily threw six innings allowing four hits, two runs (one earned), two walks and seven strikeouts. Rookie Elieser Hernandez got his first win of his MLB career as he pitched two innings striking out three and not allowing any runs. The Fish also hit well as they scored five runs on eight hits. Brian Anderson went 2-4 with two walks and a triple. Starlin Castro went 1-5 with the walk off single in extra innings. Justin Bour went 1-4 with a solo home run and Bryan Holaday went 1-3 with a walk and a hit by pitch.
The Fish will look to stay hot as they will host the Philadelphia Phillies in their next series. Left-handed pitcher Wei-Ying Chen will be on the mound for the Miami Marlins.
