The Marlins offense also had a good day at the dish as they were able to hit off of Max Scherzer but failed to put up a ton of runs. The Miami Marlins have won four out of their seven last game son their road trip.
The Washington Nationals failed to complete the sweep against the Marlins with their ace on the mound. Right-handed pitcher Max Scherzer got the start for the Washington Nationals. Scherzer threw six innings allowing seven hits, one run, one walk and six strikeouts. Former Marlin Kyle Barraclough got the loss for Washington as he pitched one inning allowing one hit, one run and a K. At the plate, the Washington Nationals really struggled as they only scored two runs on five hits. Kurt Suzuki went 1-3 with a single and base on ball. Max Scherzer went 1-2 with a RBI single. Juan Soto and Gerardo Parra both went 1-4 with a double.

Harold Ramirez went 1-4 with a walk and Jorge Alfaro went 1-3 with a base knock.
