It started with Danny Duffy on the mound for USA as he threw four innings allowing six hits, one earned run, one walk and one strikeout. The rest of the U.S. pitchers would keep the game close as the United States got hits when they needed them the most. Miami Marlins Christian Yelich doubled to left center field to tie the game in the top of the third. His Miami teammate, Giancarlo Stanton, would crush a two-run home run to left field. Stanton went 2-4 on the day with the 2-run blast and a single. Andrew McCutchen opened the game wide open after doubling left center scoring Yelich and Hosmer.
